Upcoming pool closure – 27th February to 29th April – alternative arrangements

You are all probably aware of the issues there have been with tiles lifting at the Braintree pool resulting in us losing a number of sessions (both Saturday and Wednesday) over the past year or so.

I’m pleased to announce that there is now an end in sight. Permanent repairs are to be put into effect over a 9 week period starting on the  Monday 27th February with the pool scheduled to re-open on Saturday 29th April.

During the intervening period we have managed to secure an alternate weekly pool session on Sunday afternoons, 4-5pm at the Witham Leisure Centre, Spinks Lane, Witham, CM8 1EP.

We will be moving some of the boats currently stored at Braintree to the WItham site for the period and Bramston Canoe Club have kindly offered use the use of their equipment stored that the pool for the same time. The Committee would ask all members attending these sessions to be extra careful with any kit that is not ours as we as a club will be liable for any damage. Those members wishing to take their own kit are welcome to do so under the usual conditions – it must be clean! Access will be through a side door at the far end of the pool.

Unfortunately there are no facilities for polo so this Sunday session will be general training only.
