Here are just a few pictures of some of the events and trips that members of the club went on in 2010
Frinton Beach – June
This was a day for all to try out some new boats in the sea. We had a good turn out with plenty of old hands around to help with the first timers. It could have been warmer and when we arrived the sea looked almost flat. But as the day went the waves picked up to form some small but perfect surf. Everyone seemed to have a good day, so much so that we’ve been back there again several times since.
Sea paddle – Jura – May
A group paddled round the Scottish Island of Jura, which includes an encounter with one of the biggest whirl pools in the world and camping out on wild remote beaches, and a visit to the distillery of course.
There were a number of other trips going on throughout the year Dedham to Flatford Mill in April, Bures to Nayland in May, Symonds Yat in June and Hoe Mill camp in September to mention a few!
Club BBQ / Summer camp – Heybridge Lock – 17th July
The summer BBQ was a slightly different event this year held at Heybridge lock. The sea paddlers slogged against a strong head wind all day to arrive by sea, the river paddlers gently drifted down the Chelmer, to meet at the lock for the BBQ and evening’s entertainment.
