The original plan was to paddle to Osea Island from Mersea on a late tide, have tea on Osea beach and a late paddle back. But on arrival we had a brisk easterly blowing up the Blackwater, promising a difficult paddle back from Osea Island.
So the plan was modified to paddle up to Salcott affording us some protection from the wind and then returning to a beach on the corner opposite West Mersea for tea. BBQ’s and stoves sizzling away in the late afternoon sun before the last push back to the car’s, the wind now dropping away.
A great day out on the water even if a little windy. It’s good to see as many as 8 boats including two doubles out on the water.
