Gavin explores ‘Paddle Awards’

Congratulations goes to club member Gavin, on achieving his ‘Paddle Explore Award’.

Over the past few weeks Gavin has regularly been out on our local Essex rivers with Sheltered Water Club Coach (Andrew) developing his skills and experience, to becoming an independent paddler.

By successfully completeing ‘The Explore Award’ Gavin can now go on self-guided adventures, knows how to control the craft of his choice and how to stay safe on the water.

He has learnt to make confident choices, based on the places to paddle, wind, weather, types of clothing & equipment needed, and how to respect our environment.

As an independent paddler, Gavin is now ready to EXPLORE. Whether it’s heading out on a Paddle Trail, planning a multi-day adventure, or creating his own adventure, one thing is for certain, he will be having fun on the river and enjoying his surroundings, all year round.
